Overview

To perform tasks related to the implementation and assessment of security measures and maintenance of equipment with a view towards providing updates and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making and secure WFP staff, facilities and operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review security threats and risks and compile accurate reports on trends and situations.
  • Review security related information and produce analyses and in-depth reports.
  • Liaise and coordinate with local administration, security and law enforcement authorities, communities, UN/NGO security staff and other actors.
  • Plan and co-ordinate staff activities during field missions and perform security assessments.
  • Analyse security assessment reports and present detailed recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Assist in advising the Country Director on security risk management matters and safety issues.
  • Support the implementation of risk management mitigation measures.
  • Support the maintenance and management of security equipment and make recommendations.
  • Monitor and ensure that all access control procedures are effective.
  • Maintain and develop recommendations for improving emergency and contingency planning documentation.
  • Deliver security training to staff and review security training needs.
  • Supervise and provide on-the-job training to other staff.
  • Perform other related duties or assignments.
Required Experience

A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in security operations, security risk management, and other related areas of responsibilities. Security background and having military or police experience is desirable.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school education. A Bachelor’s degree in in Peace and Conflict Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Psychology, International relations, Commercial law or related field with focus on security management will be an advantage, as well as Bachelor’s Degree from the police academy or military college is highly desirable.

Candidates from Balochistan will have an advantage.
