Policy Analyst - Health, Employment, Skills and Social Affairs

Overview

The role involves carrying out high-quality economic and policy analysis in the areas of Health and Employment, Skills and Social Affairs, and developing policy advice and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out high quality economic and policy analysis.
• Develop policy recommendations, reports, policy briefs and other deliverables.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, flagship publications and country reviews.
• Prepare working papers, policy briefs, policy papers, blogs, seminar proceedings, and policy messages.
• Contribute to the development of practical tools, including policy toolkits.
• Conduct statistical analysis.
• Oversee the work of more junior staff.
• Participate in horizontal and multidisciplinary projects.
• Liaise with other OECD Directorates and with experts.
• Contribute to the organisation of and participate in meetings.
• Establish new networks and strengthen existing collaboration.
• Support the external visibility of the Directorate.
• Stay abreast of policy issues.
• Provide general support to the activities of the relevant Division.
• Actively support the Division’s fundraising efforts.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned.

Required Experience

Five to seven years’ experience carrying out applied research and analysis in at least one area among health, employment, social and skills policies, acquired in a national administration, international organisation, university or research centre. Excellent understanding of the range of issues that impact one or more of the following: health, labour markets, employment, social and skills systems in various country contexts and experience in working on these issues in different countries. Sound knowledge of and experience in economic, public policy analysis and social research quantitative and qualitative tools such as economic modelling, public policy evaluation methods, analysis of micro administrative and survey data, designing and implementing of pilots, applied to one or more of the following: health, employment, skills and social policies.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree in economics, health economics, labour economics, social policy or other relevant discipline.
