Overview

The Monitoring Assistant will contribute to the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of WFP's programmatic activities at the community level to ensure the effectiveness, quality, and accountability of interventions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning and organization of field activities.
  • Liaise between WFP, implementing partners, and beneficiary communities.
  • Mobilize beneficiaries and support the organization of cash or food transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and WFP standards.
  • Plan field missions and ensure coverage of all activity sites.
  • Share site visit reports, urgent incidents, and recommendations.
  • Enter field reports into the dedicated platform.
  • Participate in the CFM mechanism.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify activity compliance with approved plans.
  • Monitor physical achievements and performance indicators.
  • Identify operational problems and propose corrective measures.
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data using digital tools.
  • Verify the accuracy and quality of collected data.
  • Support beneficiary targeting, registration, and verification exercises.
  • Contribute to updating project databases.
  • Sensitize beneficiaries on activities and program criteria.
  • Promote complaint and feedback mechanisms.
  • Ensure community concerns and recommendations are relayed.
  • Uphold protection, inclusion, and gender principles.
  • Prepare mission reports and field debriefings.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and testimonials.
  • Maintain good relations with local authorities, community leaders, and partners.
  • Participate in coordination meetings.
Required Experience

At least five (5) years of experience in field activities; Experience in collecting data on products and direct program effects, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, writing reports, and communicating findings; Experience using WFP's monitoring and evaluation systems and standards; Experience with humanitarian or development organizations is desirable; Experience collecting data using digital tools is an asset.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education. A post-secondary certificate in the relevant functional area is desirable.

Proficiency in the UN language used at the duty station and the language of the duty station, if different from the first.
