Data Scientist

Overview

The role of Data Scientist involves contributing to workstreams on benchmarking societal progress in OECD member countries, focusing on data infrastructure development, visualization, and policy analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated data pipelines for the OECD How’s Life? well-being database.
• Manage regular data updates for the How’s Life? database and the Better Life Index.
• Coordinate data collection for the Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy.
• Assess potential application of emerging data science and AI tools.
• Maintain and further develop the OECD Well-being Data Monitor.
• Create data visualisations to enhance visibility and uptake of outputs.
• Engage with communities of practice to share expertise.
• Provide training and technical guidance on data science best practices.
• Analyse and draft for selected statistical and policy publications.
• Analyse well-being outcomes using statistical techniques.
• Present findings and policy implications to stakeholders.
• Project management of analysis, drafting and publication processes.

Required Experience

• At least four years of relevant experience on applied policy research and/or data science.
• Experience conducting econometric analysis and working with microdata.
• Proven track record in developing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and automated workflows.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in well-being-related topics is desired.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field with a strong quantitative focus.
