Associate Programme Management Officer
Overview
Support the implementation of the Synthetic Drug Strategy across South Asia through programme assistance, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, research, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare speaking notes, talking points and briefing materials ahead of meetings, missions and public engagements;
- Conduct background research and analysis on synthetic drug trends, policy developments, and national and regional counterparts across South Asia;
- Support the drafting of presentations, reports, correspondence and other documents as required;
- Assist in the preparation of strategic communications and visibility materials;
- Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, missions, workshops and events, including correspondence, scheduling and travel arrangements;
- Support coordination and liaison with government counterparts and regional partners;
- Assist with the collection, organization and tracking of programme data, records and documentation;
- Perform other duties as may be required by the Regional Coordinator.
Required Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in drug control, crime prevention, criminal justice, international relations, or programme/project support is required. Some prior knowledge of, or exposure to, drug control systems, threats, and responses is required. Experience engaging with government counterparts, particularly national ministries and drug control/law enforcement agencies, is required. Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills are required, including the ability to prepare clear, concise speaking notes and briefing materials. Solid computer literacy, including MS Office applications, is required. Experience in strategic communications and content creation is desirable. Prior UN experience is desirable but not required.
Qualifications
Master's degree in International relations, political science, law, criminology, social sciences, communications, forensic science, or a related field
