Logistics Intern

Overview

The role supports logistics operations through data management, transport and warehouse monitoring, operational analysis, planning support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will reinforce routine data analysis and operational follow-up while gaining practical exposure to end-to-end supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and clean data from operational records, spreadsheets, enterprise platforms and partner inputs; identify gaps, inconsistencies and duplicate records and follow up on corrections.
• Support routine tracking of consignments from dispatch through receipt, including transport status, delivery timelines, outstanding documentation and exceptions requiring operational follow-up.
• Prepare concise weekly and monthly analyses, visual summaries and management dashboards on volumes, lead times, service performance, stock movements and emerging bottlenecks.
• Assist with transport planning and load allocation by organizing information on requirements, vehicle capacity, routes, delivery priorities and delivery schedules.
• Support reconciliation of information across operational and financial records and maintain clear supporting documentation and audit trails.
• Contribute to warehouse and inventory activities, including receipt and dispatch documentation, physical counts, stock reporting and investigation of variances.
• Support demand mapping and operational planning for logistics services provided to partners, including requests, capacity, costs, service timelines and follow-up of completed services.
• Contribute to emergency preparedness through scenario data, readiness trackers, partner and supplier mapping, and identification of potential transport, storage or staffing constraints.
• Document recurring workflows and propose practical improvements, including simple automation or data-visualization solutions where appropriate.
• Participate in coordination meetings, prepare action trackers and undertake other related learning tasks consistent with the purpose and level of the internship.

Required Experience

• Coursework, project work or practical exposure related to logistics, transport, warehousing, inventory, procurement, humanitarian operations or emergency preparedness.
• Experience consolidating data from several sources, conducting data-quality checks and presenting findings to non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a recognized undergraduate or graduate programme in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, data science, information systems, statistics, economics, business administration or another relevant field, in accordance with the applicable internship eligibility rules.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and analyse quantitative information using spreadsheets or comparable data-processing tools.
