Information Systems Assistant (Data analyst)
Overview
The Information Systems Assistant (Data Analyst) role supports MONUSCO's mission by analyzing data to inform policy and decision-making, focusing on the protection of civilians and stabilization efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage stakeholders to identify operational problems and data-driven improvement opportunities.
- Lead requirements-gathering activities, including process mapping and gap analysis.
- Translate business requirements into solution designs and implementation plans.
- Design, build, test, and maintain data extraction, ingestion, transformation, and loading pipelines.
- Develop scalable data models and curated datasets.
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and analytical applications using Power BI.
- Conduct exploratory, diagnostic, and statistical analysis of large datasets.
- Establish and apply data-quality controls and issue-resolution procedures.
- Contribute to data dictionaries, metadata, and lineage documentation.
- Plan and coordinate assigned analytics initiatives.
- Develop prototypes and minimum viable solutions.
- Monitor adoption and effectiveness after deployment.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to colleagues.
- Monitor developments in artificial intelligence and automation for practical use cases.
Required Experience
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional experience in data engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a closely related area is required. Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end data solutions, from requirements and source assessment through development, testing, deployment, documentation, and user adoption, is required. Experience building production-oriented data pipelines, integrating multiple or high-volume data sources, and demonstrated delivery of enterprise-scale or mission-critical data solutions is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Telecommunications, Business Information Technology, Business Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering/Information or related discipline.
