Overview
The Program Communication Specialist will support the implementation of community engagement, mobilization, hygiene promotion, and social and behaviour change activities for the AIR SETARA WASH project. The role will work with various stakeholders to promote participation, inclusion, and sustainable WASH practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate technical climate-resilient WASH milestones into compelling impact narratives.
- Ensure compliance with branding, communication, and media protocols.
- Design and implement multi-channel social and behavior change campaigns.
- Capture and package program learning, evidence, and intellectual assets.
- Lead the development and delivery of program communication plan.
- Develop communication work plan and indicator of success.
- Develop agreed communication messages, targeted audience, strategic communication products, and channels.
- Support public events from a communications perspective.
- Contribute to program reports regarding communication.
- Develop communication reports to highlight contributions to national communication targets.
- Organize media/journalist visits and maintain media visit guidelines.
- Achieve target number of publications, news coverage, and in-depth articles.
- Establish program/project profiles and success stories.
- Draft content for mass media or Plan website.
- Act as technical focal point for branding guidelines adherence.
- Manage review and clearance workflows for communication materials.
- Ensure Safeguarding and GEDSI in all communication products and activities.
- Develop branded templates, style guides, and communication toolkits.
- Develop publications highlighting Plan Indonesia's work with children and girls' rights.
- Measure and record the result and effectiveness of visibility efforts.
- Provide training and socialization on branding guidelines and communication protocols.
- Support national and sub-national campaign initiatives.
- Mobilize public support for campaign activities.
- Ensure global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People, GEDSI, and PSHEA are embedded in project activities.
- Participate in capacity building and learning events on Safeguarding, GEDSI, and PSHEA.
- Submit required documentation for policy implementation.
- Understand and practice responsibilities under Safeguarding, GEDSI, and PSHEA policies and Code of Conduct.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in communications and campaign management for multi-country programs, preferably with INGOs, UN agencies, or social impact organizations.
- Practical experience developing community-level social and behavior change communication, preference focused on public health, WASH.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing awareness campaigns reaching large audiences (hundreds of thousands or millions).
- Prior experience working on large-scale donor -funded programs (desirable).
- Experience designing and delivering basic communication/documentation training for field staff, communities (desirable).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, international development, or related fields.
