Planning Officer (NO-2), FT, two positions based in Surkhet and Janakpur – Nepal, APR
Overview
The Planning Officer will play a key role in strengthening decentralized planning, budgeting, and monitoring systems to improve outcomes for children across Nepal. The role provides technical support to strengthen results-based planning, monitoring, and review processes at provincial and municipal levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Decentralized planning and results‑based management
- Subnational monitoring, review, and follow‑through
- Subnational planning–budget coherence and affordability support
- Evidence use and analytical support for subnational decision‑making
- Multi-sector coordination and support to Field Office and subnational engagement
- Capacity strengthening, learning, and knowledge management
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in programme planning, monitoring, or results-based management is required, including in contexts involving decentralized or subnational government systems.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent first-level university degree in social science, development studies, economics, public administration, statistics, public policy, planning, or a related field is required.
