Overview
Leads UNICEF Maldives’ work on climate change, supporting planning, partnerships, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of children and climate change initiatives, with a focus on climate-resilient education and youth climate action.
Key Responsibilities
- Evidence, advocacy and strategic partnerships on climate and children, including NDC 3.0
- Climate education, curriculum integration and school-based climate action
- Youth development and engagement on climate, including green skills and Climate Guardians
- Policy dialogue, planning and systems strengthening on climate change
- Programme coordination, monitoring, reporting and quality assurance
Required Experience
A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in programme/project development and implementation in areas related to climate action, climate change adaptation and mitigation, environment, education, youth engagement, disaster risk reduction, project management, monitoring and reporting, or related development work is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: climate change, environmental science, education, social sciences, development studies, public policy, international development, disaster risk management or another relevant technical field.
