Overview

The National Coordinator provides technical coordination, country analysis, and partnership support within the EU HIC MCO, contributing to UNICEF's strategic cooperation agenda at the country level.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide national technical advice, coordination, and contextual analysis for assigned country-level priorities.
• Support UNICEF’s strategic cooperation agenda through technical inputs to policy dialogue, evidence-based advocacy, child rights monitoring, partnership follow-up, public finance engagement, knowledge generation, and coordination of UNICEF-supported catalytic initiatives and technical assistance.
• Contribute to effective planning, monitoring, reporting, and resource use for assigned activities.
• Provide country-level analysis, coordination, follow-up, and quality assurance for assigned priorities.
• Support the MCO’s transition from direct service delivery to upstream, systems-oriented engagement.
• May supervise a small country-based team or assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• At least five years of relevant professional experience in Development Cooperation, Social Policy, Child Rights, Public Finance for Children, Programme Management (including Planning, Implementation and Monitoring), Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement, Policy Dialogue and Government Engagement, European Union policy and institutional contexts, as well as Leadership and Supervisory Roles, or other related fields, is required.
• Demonstrated experience in Workstream Coordination, Team Supervision, Personnel Management, Performance Management, Coaching and Mentoring, and Values-Based Leadership, including the supervision of small teams, consultants, UN Volunteers (UNVs) is required.

Qualifications

Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Economics, Social Science, Political Science, International Public Policy, Social Development and any other related fields.
