Overview
The Nutrition Specialist will provide technical, programmatic, and operational support for UNICEF’s nutrition response in Gaza, focusing on lifesaving and recovery interventions for vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of nutrition programmes.
- Focus on emergency nutrition response, NICU and neonatal nutrition, adolescent nutrition, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Community Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), H&N extenders workforce management.
- Strengthen nutrition information systems and decision-making through Power BI and data analytics.
- Contribute to effective implementation of emergency nutrition response in Gaza.
- Strengthen neonatal and NICU nutrition programming.
- Develop and operationalize adolescent nutrition initiatives.
- Ensure functioning nutrition AAP and CFM systems with documented feedback utilization.
- Improve integration of nutrition across sectors.
- Manage and oversee performance of nutrition and health extenders.
- Develop operational Power BI nutrition dashboards and routine analytical products.
- Produce knowledge management products.
- Ensure timely donor reporting, programme monitoring, and partner management.
- Improve quality, coverage, and accountability of UNICEF-supported nutrition interventions.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in nutrition, public health, maternal and child nutrition or emergency nutrition programming. Demonstrated experience in humanitarian nutrition programming and emergency response. Experience managing partnerships, programme implementation and donor-funded projects. Experience in programme management, emergency nutrition, data analysis, strategic planning, partnership coordination, capacity building is required.
Qualifications
Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in one of the following fields is required: nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health policy, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, or another health-related science field.
