Overview

The Mission Spokesperson will be responsible for managing media relations and disseminating information about the OSCE Mission to Moldova's activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting press releases, statements, press lines, news items and media advisories, managing their clearance and distribution.
  • Preparing a daily news digest with summaries, ensuring timely clearance and distribution.
  • Developing and implementing a media strategy to reach relevant audiences.
  • Supervising the monitoring and distribution of local and international media within the Mission.
  • Handling interview requests from domestic and foreign journalists.
  • Supervising and conducting press conferences, media events and interviews.
  • Conducting outreach activities in support of the Mission's mandate.
  • Managing the implementation of projects related to media freedom and public outreach.
  • Maintaining liaison with the OSCE Secretariat's Communications and Media Relations Section and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.
  • Supervising internal monitoring and reporting in the field of freedom of the media.
  • Managing the Mission's social media presence and day-to-day platform management.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of the Mission's website.
  • Participating in the Mission-wide security zone monitoring programme.
  • Supervising one mission member.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience, including at least six years of media and public affairs experience, handling media inquiries and interview requests, and managing information dissemination. Experience in project management. Knowledge of the historical and current political situation of the Mission area. Experience of using and maintaining social media platforms. Knowledge of IT functions and experience in using computers and relevant software. Desirable: Experience of working in an international organization. Knowledge of Media legislation. Experience with the use of digital photography and video.

Qualifications

First-level university degree in journalism, international relations or related field, communications, public relations, media studies or professional certification in journalism, public relations or media technology.

Languages Required
Professional fluency in English, both oral and written, and working knowledge of Russian.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of Romanian language.

Remuneration
The OSCE pays living expenses in the form of a Board and Lodging Allowance (BLA) of EUR 119 per day, subject to change without prior notice. Social benefits will include possibility of participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.
