Audio-Visual Editing and Digital Media Intern

Overview

Support audiovisual digitization and preservation projects, including editing, organizing, and preparing digital media assets. The role involves creating accessibility materials and conducting quality control reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Support audiovisual digitization and preservation projects.
• Organize, prepare, and manage audiovisual materials.
• Perform basic to intermediate video editing.
• Assist with audio editing activities.
• Create subtitles, captions, transcripts, and accessibility-related materials.
• Conduct quality-control reviews of edited audiovisual materials.
• Organize and maintain digital media assets.
• Assist in the preparation of audiovisual records for long-term digital preservation.
• Track project progress, maintain editing logs, and prepare project documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with records management, communications, and information management teams.
• Participate in meetings and seminars, take notes, and draft summary reports.
• Support other activities and projects, and propose own ideas and initiatives.
• Perform other activities and special projects as assigned.

Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be in the final academic year of a first university degree programme at the bachelor’s level or equivalent.
• Pursuing or have pursued a degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Communications, Film or Media Studies, Business Administration, Management or related fields.
• Be computer literate in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with any video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with audio-editing software such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar tools.
