Overview
The Junior Information Assistant will support the implementation of projects and activities for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The role focuses on data management, analysis, and reporting to contribute to urban poverty reduction strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the elaboration and calculation of variables, indicators and other data and information.
- Extract, process and organize data from public databases and statistical sources.
- Participate in the organization and implementation of capacity-building activities.
- Contribute to activities related to the collection, production, organization, analysis and management of data, information and urban indicators.
- Contribute to technical teams through data collection, basic data analysis, evaluation and monitoring.
- Prepare internal reports, partner reports and other project-related documents.
- Contribute to the systematization and exchange of successful practices and experiences.
- Maintain organized, updated and accessible information and documentation related to project activities.
- Complete assigned tasks within agreed deadlines and undertake administrative and operational activities.
- Document expert group meetings, training events and other activities.
- Participate in meetings, forums and conferences.
- Monitor assigned deliverables in accordance with the work plan and agreed timelines.
- Maintain organized records of project activities, risks and key documentation.
- Prepare and format reports in accordance with ABNT guidelines, UN-Habitat quality standards and project requirements.
- Uphold ethical principles in the course of the assignment.
- Perform other administrative, operational or management-related duties assigned by the Head of the Brazil Office.
Required Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in themes related to data analysis, reports and information for public policy, data visualization, data collection, processing and analysis in Brazil is required.
- Previous experience working in the United Nations is an added advantage.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or additional two (2) years of relevant technical experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Urban Studies, Statistics or related fields is desirable.
