Asociado/a VAM-SIG (Análisis de Vulnerabilidades & Monitoreo)

Overview

The role supports the development and leadership of a data systems strategy to automate data collection and sharing, focusing on visualization and geospatial technology for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate operational and static maps, dashboards, and SIGweb products.
• Maintain a library of spatial data and metadata.
• Support the technical and programmatic development of surveys.
• Maintain VAM data systems and improve links with other units.
• Develop dashboards for sharing key internal data.
• Develop infographic reports and update information regularly.
• Provide training on GIS software, WebGIS platforms, and data collection tools.

Required Experience

• Minimum six (6) years of work experience with increasing responsibilities, including a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in the development and management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Experience working with GIS software ARCGIS 10.x, QuantumGIS and other OpenSource software knowledge.
• Experience in programming and implementation of data collection tools like Kobo, ODK Collect, Survey123 and XLSForm.
• Experience in knowledge transfer to diverse audiences through training, mentoring, workshop, will be positively valued.
• Experience in the public sector, especially in entities related to data or social protection, will be positively valued.
• Experience in the humanitarian sector, including UN agencies and NGOs, will be positively valued.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary education cycle.
• Professional degree in administrative areas, engineering, statistics, data analysis or other fields relevant or related to the functions of the position.
• Desirable, Postgraduate degree in Geographic Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science.
