Medical Doctor
Overview
The UN Volunteer Medical Doctor will provide primary health care to UN personnel, focusing on protecting and promoting staff health and ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage medical conditions.
- Stabilize and refer emergency medical and trauma cases.
- Provide on-call services and medical escort for evacuations.
- Conduct medical examinations and provide immunizations.
- Advise on workplace and occupational health risks.
- Assist in planning and delivering clinical and emergency preparedness training.
- Manage medical logistics, including stocks and equipment.
- Submit weekly and/or monthly activity reports.
Required Experience
At least five years of progressively responsible clinical experience as a physician in a hospital providing emergency, inpatient, intensive care, or other high-acuity services. Experience limited primarily to outpatient or clinic-based medical practice will not be considered qualifying experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), or other relevant trauma certifications are required. Valid license to practice medicine in the home country.
