Urban Planner
Overview
Provide planning and design outputs related to UN-Habitat technical support to GTH 2.0.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials (presentations, maps, drawings) for workshops with city and county officials and technical staff.
- Be responsible of the drafting, revision and completion planning materials (spatial analysis and drawings, reports).
- Participate in technical missions, if required.
Required Experience
At least 7 years of proven experience in drawing and preparing plan graphical material using computer assisted design tools, with special attention to data management and processing with GIS software is required. Good hand drawing / sketching of macro-scale plans is an advantage. Good analytic and design skills in regional and citywide planning and design is an advantage. Experience in regional and territorial scale planning will be considered an advantage. Working experience in the African continent is an asset.
Qualifications
Minimum advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Architecture, Urban Planning and Design is required, or related field that is relevant for sustainable urban development. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
