Overview
The Finance & Budget Officer will support the Fund for responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) Secretariat in financial management, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with World Bank policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, consolidate, and reconcile budget inputs from across Secretariat units and prepare draft budgets.
- Support the drafting of the Secretariat’s Workplan.
- Prepare periodic financial reports and statements, including monthly and periodic budget execution reports.
- Track variances against approved budgets and maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Support the design, development, and updating of financial and budget dashboards.
- Support the setup and maintenance of FRLD Trust Fund financial systems.
- Provide day-to-day operational support on financial management of FRLD-managed trust funds.
- Provide operational support on financial and fiduciary management matters in compliance with World Bank policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of financial management processes.
- Liaise with World Bank units, the Trustee, Secretariat divisions, the Budget Committee, and other key stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of Board and Budget Committee documentation on financial planning and budget-related matters.
- Coordinate with the Governance and Board Affairs team on decision-making processes.
Required Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting, preferably with exposure to trust funds, climate finance, and/or international development financing in multilateral or complex institutional environments.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are considered a strong asset.
