Overview

The Business Support Assistant (Finance) will support the UNHRD Network Finance function by contributing to the effective management of accounts payable, customer billing, master data management, cash administration, and internal control activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Gather information to support drafting of documents and preparing reports.
  • Respond to queries and escalate where appropriate.
  • Support processing and managing routine administrative and financial tasks.
  • Provide revision and proof-reading services for standard documents.
  • Maintain set standard systems and files.
  • Identify simple discrepancies in statistics and data and report to senior staff.
  • Take responsibility for data integrity.
  • Provide guidance on routine business support methods and practices to junior colleagues.
  • Work with a variety of individuals.
  • Receive and process vendor invoices, verify supporting documents, register transactions, and ensure timely approval and payment.
  • Assist with SAP financial entries, monitor outstanding items, and support basic reconciliations and financial documentation.
  • Manage petty cash in line with WFP procedures and provide general administrative and finance support.
Required Experience

At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, budget, treasury, or related business support functions. Experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, and financial reconciliation activities. Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP, or similar enterprise resource planning platforms. Experience in an international organization, humanitarian environment, or shared service setting is desirable.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is desirable.
