Overview

The HR Intern - Talent Development will gain hands-on experience in areas such as administrative and technical skills, communications and graphic design, research and data analysis, and talent outreach support within the United Nations Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing, updating and/or maintaining internal records, databases, and SharePoint files.
  • Use Office 365 apps, Power BI, or other software to prepare team presentations, reports, and communications.
  • Assist in the planning and dissemination of communication products.
  • Contribute to communication, knowledge-sharing, and outreach activities.
  • Design or edit visuals that align with United Nations branding guidelines.
  • Learn or further develop skills in using software to design, develop and/or edit visual products.
  • Conduct research on HR-related policies, best practices, and data trends; and summarize key findings.
  • Collect and analyze data for internal reports and oversight reviews.
  • Develop visual solutions and reports based on multiple data sources.
  • Help plan, coordinate and support briefings, community engagements, learning and knowledge-sharing events.
  • Support the partnership with the government, universities and professional associations.
  • Help organize and conduct talent outreach events targeting university students and secondary schools in China.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, educational background or exposure to human resources, psychology, education, public administration or related issues is desirable.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. Programme.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
3 -6 months, start from 19 October 2026

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
